Time Series
The artistic focus of this body of work is an exploration of the concept of time through symbolism, using a limited palette and an intuitive process. The initial inspiration came from grief in the recent loss of my beloved father. Dramatic contrast and texture in these pieces captures a feeling of serenity and hope amongst chaos. The stairs represent a pathway through the grieving process to acceptance and peace. The effect is the creation of visceral spaces of mystical intrigue in which to get lost and find comfort. The title of the Lord of the Rings inspired piece, "A Light in Dark Places," encapsulates the theme of this entire series.
